This is an auction on a Joey Stivic, Archie Bunker's Grandson Anatomically Correct Doll. First off, if you don't know who Archie Bunker is, then you were born TOO late! Made by Ideal in 1976, this was the first anatomically correct boy doll made, and quite a controversy raged over it at the time. To be blunt, the kid looks real in every way possible! For the benefit of you twenty-somethings who don't have TV Land, Archie Bunker was the lead role in the television show "All In The Family", played to perfection by Carrol O'Connor, veteran 60's actor.
The so-called "lovable bigot", if there ever was such a thing, Archie's vocal malapropisms delighted t.v. viewers all throughout the 70's. His daughter, Gloria, gave birth to a baby boy they called Joey, and that is who this doll is modeled after. The doll is in MINT cond., still sealed in a plastic bag with his diaper, washcloth, and bottle. This a "drink & wet" doll, who, well, drinks and wets!! The box is another story. Water damaged, creased, and scuffed up, it has still protected the doll and accessories well for over 30 years! Ideal for all lovers and collectors of dolls and television memorabilia!!
