Japanese locakl erea gods Oshira-Sama

Oshira-Sama is Japanese local customs Gods for Iwate prefecture.
These gods are very rare in Japan. Ethnologists and board of education are reserching in Iwate.
These are pair of idol and there is two types.
wraped by waste pieces from cutting cloth and wear Kimonos.

Inhabitant of Iwate are belive Oshira-Sama to protect health of eyes or the sericultural industry.
(the sericultural industry is very popular in Iwate.)

Outside kimono's date is Early Showa era. wick side Kimono is Edo era.
Oshira-Sama is dressed new kimono every year. but Did not change clothes on it.

These gods are husband and wife.
Oshira-Sama have horse head or human head( men or women).
One side have horse head, Other side is women.
It is based on folk tale story in Iwate.( horse is specialty of Iwate and symbol of riches)
