Satsuma Yakimono (Satsuma Cermics).

Kagoshima prefecture 

Satsuma Yaki is ceramics from the provinces of Kagoshima prefecture in Japan.  It falls into several basic types:

Kinrande Satsuma is a time of satsuma yaki with a white base 

Ko Satsuma 

Kuso Satsuma 

Shiro Satsuma

Hideyoshi Toyotome sent soldiers to Korea for military exploit.  However, in so doing, Japanese was exposed to Korean pottery, because many of Korea's finest potters were brought to Japan.  These potters ended up having a profound influence on the direction of Japanese ceramics, even to this day.  Satsuma Yakimono is a testament to this phenomenon.
