Tosei Gusoku - The Armor of Samurai Armies.
Incredible. This book features one of the
most incredible compilations of samurai Tosei Gosoku style armor ever assembled
- nearly unmatched in its breadth of topics. It is the 1st of several
volumes on the same topic. The book meticulously
examines each piece of armor and its evolution.
It also features an historian
donning some of the rare armor suits, and includes a beautiful fold out near the
front of the book, which summarized and lists all the various armor parts.
This fold out is in English, though the rest of the book is in Japanese.
This will not diminish your enjoyment of this fascinating volume, because it is
packed with exquisitely photographed and printed images. Also, the major
section have the Japanese topical heading written in English, so you can know
the names of the various armor parts, NICE!
