Janet Hamer Floral Ceramic Pottery Hand-Made Dish Bowl

This is a beautiful original hand made and hand decorated ceramic pottery dish bowl by Welsh potter "Janet Hamer", dating from the last 20 years.

This is a beautiful piece from renowned potter Janet Hamer. This beautiful bowl has a wonderful biscuit glazed ground, with a simple blue border decoration to the inner rims. The centre of the plate has wonderful hand-painted spray of 'forget-me-not' flowers with beautiful blue / blue-green and blue-purple shades.

This is a wonderful and elegant piece by potter Janet Hamer, the bowl bearing the impressed mark "JH" monogram to the base.

JANET HAMER

Welsh potter Janet has won First Prize for ceramics in the National Eisteddfod of Wales. She has found time for writing on ceramics including reviews published by Ceramic Review, Creft/Craft, and Shards. Janet and her husband Frank together wrote "Clays" for Pitman/Axner and have recently revised and expanded their book "The Potter's Dictionary of Materials and Techniques (5th Edition A&C Black). She takes students for specialized courses run their the studio. Janet has potted in the Czech Republic and Iceland and studied firing techniques and glazes in China.

Janet regularly exhibits as a solo ceramic artist as well as with a group of potters. Most exhibitions are in England and Wales but she has also shown with other potters in Prague, Istanbul, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Stüttgart. Janet is also best known for her ceramic bird creations. This fabulous dish bowl is in excellent original condition, having no chips or cracks, and a fine collector's piece. The bowl measures a diameter of 10.25 inches (26cm), having a height of 2.25 inches (5.7cm).
