Dear............
Welcome to an auction for an extremely limited edition piece of botanical glass art
Coalescence ii:
Coalescence ii is a completely hand made sculpture, made by myself, using flameworking and ultra violet gluing techniques. Coalescence comprises of over a 2000 individual glass components, assembled around 6 hand blown glass balls and two hand made solid glass stalks and involves some 4 days of work to from start to finish. The main piece is approx 500 to 600 mm in height, and the main ball is approx 200mm to 220mm in diameter, whereas the smaller balls are ranging from 50mm to 80mm in diameter. The secondary piece is approx 300mm to 400mm in height with a main ball diameter of 100mm to 130mm and the smaller 2 balls are approx 30mm to 50mm in diameter
WARNING:
You are bidding for both pieces of glass art pictured in the photograph. If you should not want both pieces please contact me for a quote.
Coalescence ii looks fragile, but it is actually quite robust. The actual 'spikes' which make up the entire piece, are actually made out of a glass called 'borosilciate' glass, - which is commercially known as 'Pyrex'. This means that this is not indestructable, but it is tough.
Aesthetically, - Coalescence ii loves to be placed in places with natural light, - where it will sparkle in the sunshine, - perhaps in a window flower box? or have direct artificial light focused on it, where it seems to 'radiate' the light from inside. However if you don't have any direct light, it is still a fascinating object to own, and an even more fascinating object to handle.
Coalescence ii itselfs take approx three weeks to deliver to your door. Also, because of the hand made nature of this sculpture each piece is individual.
The initial Coalescence ii pictured in the photograph was a private commissioned piece, so in effect there will be only one other piece like yours.
