While VOL.1 features the deep-voiced singer's biggest and most energetic hits ("It's Not Unusual," "Delilah"), this collection leans more toward subdued material, as exemplified by the wistful "Funny Familiar Forgotten Feelings" and the majestic, melancholy "(It Looks Like) I'll Never Fall in Love Again." VOL. 2 is an enjoyable and concise offering, but those looking for a more comprehensive one-stop overview of Jones's catalog should seek out Hip-O's excellent two-disc GOLD set.
