TITLE. "DEVON FARM LANDSCAPE"

DESCRIPTION. An original watercolour  by John Edmund Mace dating from the 1940's.  This painting is an idylic Devon countryside. The ducks go about thier business on the pond as a girl collects eggs and a worker rakes hay. 

This is a lovely example of a 1950's John Mace watercolor. The Devon thatched cottage with pond and ducks particularly appealing-  It is a good size and signed with excellent and interesting gallery provenance.  John Waddington  was later to move his gallery from Dublin to Cork St London  and exhibit such Irish artists as Francis Bacon and Jack Butler Yeats.

CONDITION.
Watercolour on paper. Image size 40cm by 57cm and in excellent condition.

FRAME.
Housed in its original Victor Waddington's Gallery gilt gallery frame with a lovely mount which compliments the picture 70cm by 56cm. In excellent condition and ready to hang.

John Edmund Mace - birn 1899.  Landscape flower and marine painter. Official artist in France in 1918-19. Royal British Artist 1934.. Exhibited 1920-38.  Address Queen Victoria St London. Torquay Devon.
