JACK DAVIS (b. 1924) is most famous for his work in EC Comics and MAD Magazine over the years, but in fact he had work published in Tip Top Comics while still in high school. He was considered the most versatile of the EC stable, equally at home doing horror, science fiction, humor, or war stories. After EC folded, Davis worked for such magazines as Cracked, Panic, and Loco, before turning his attention to a highly successful series of bubble gum cards. He continued to contribute to MAD for many years.
