This HUGE Victorian trophy cup is a very rare find. Ican honestly say , that I havent seen one this big for a very long time , and whenever you do see something like this, it is unbuyable!!!!
This one however, comes to you fresh on the market and is being sold without reserve!!!!!!!
This huge piece of silver , all 34 troy oz [1030 gm] is in perfect condition, having the same thickness throughout, therefore never having been erased
There are no dents or scratches on the boby whatsoever, however there are a few surface scratches on the wonderfull `flying C- scroll` handles. These handles stand out proud from the body of the cup, and rise up above terminating in a spiralling scroll. There is the normal band around the middle of the cup, and the foot is the normal pedistal type, having a few bands of reeding around it.
The cup stands a huge 8.6 in tall to the top of the handles, and measures 11 in from handle to handle. The diameter at the top of the cup is 6.2 in.
The hallmarks for the maker are slightly rubbed, but the Hibernian and Lady Brittania marks are very clear . You can also see that the date letter reads the`B` for 1897, and next to this there is the retailers mark of West & Son.
Good luck in bidding for this very rare piece of IRISH VICTORIAN SILVER. This is truly one of a kind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
