Idle Stepper motor or IAC or Digitial Linear Actuator

An Idle control Valve is used to control the amount of air allowed into the inlet manifold when on idle. The valve has a 'Pin/Push rod' which moves in and out incredibly fast, allowing the engine idle to be controlled accurately.
Common symptoms of a faulty Idle Air control Valve (IAC) usuaully are:
Poor idling revs - going up and down
Cutting out when the engine speed drops at bends, stopping, roundabouts etc
High revving whilstat idle
Idle speed going up and down
Sometimes a diagnostic machine will point out the IAC is faulty but not always.
Almost all manufacturer and vehicle will have a different IAC part number.
THE BEST WAY TO BUY AN IAC IS TO GET THE NUMBER FROM YOUR EXISTING UNIT.
The number is inscribed on to the black plastic part where the elctrical plug connects.
