Original dark green cloth covered boards with red titles to front and spine. 176 pages. In original Leo Manso dust jacket with clipped corners to the front flap. This is often regarded as the second state jacket with the corners of the front flap clipped and the price of $2.75 to the top of the front flap. [The other state of the jacket has square corners with the price to the bottom corner of the front flap. There appears to be some debate as to which is the first and which is the second state so it is difficult to say with any certainty]

Boards are in very good plus condition. Clean with bright titles. Slight rubbing to spine tips and corners. Binding is tight and square.

Internally the pages are very clean  indeed and in excellent condition throughout. No inscriptions, marks or blemishes.

The dust jacket has very mild fading and rubbing to the spine. Some wear/chipping to spine tips and corners. With the following tears;

1) A 2cm tear to the rear flap at the top of the fold.

2) A 2.5cm tear to the rear flap at the bottom edge near to the spine.

3) A 1cm tear to the front panel at the top of the fold.

4) A chip and 2.5cm tear with associated creasing to the front panel at the top edge. This tear and the head of the spine have previously been repaired/reinforced internally with tape (now removed) which has left a tape mark to the inside of the jacket. This tape mark shows through to the front by way of darkening to the red colour at the head of the spine. 

5) A 2.5cm tear with associated creasing to the front panel at the bottom edge. This tear has previously been repaired internally with tape (now removed) which has left a tape mark to the inside of the jacket. This tape mark is camouflaged on the front of the jacket as it is on a dark part of the design. It only shows through under very close examination under light.

The jacket is now protected in a removable plastic sleeve (not shown in the photos).

A very nice copy of this sought-after first James Bond title.

Books at £200 and over will be sent within 48 hours by special delivery with insurance to the full value of the book. There will not be any additional charge for this service, above the stated postage costs.

All books under £200 will be sent by Royal Mail airmail within 48 hours of receipt of payment.

Books at £200 and over will be sent within 48 hours by Royal Mail 'Airsure'  (or 'International Signed For' where 'Airsure' is not available) with insurance to the full value of the book. Once the book has been mailed I will Email you notification together with a reference number which will enable you to track or trace your delivery online. There will not be any additional charge for this service above the stated shipping costs.

Combined postage

I will combine postage/shipping costs. Where more than one item is purchased please request an invoice when you have finished buying. I will send an amended invoice reflecting the reduced postage/shipping costs.
