Maw & Company have produced ceramic wall and floor tiles of the highest quality since 1850, supplying some of the world’s most prestigious buildings. During the 1880’s the company was the world’s largest producer of ceramic tiles supplying in excess of 20 million pieces per year.

Today the company is involved in the restoration of wall and floor tiles, re-supplying many of it’s original customers, together with the faithful replication of tiles produced during the Victorian era by other leading tile makers of the time such as Minton, Campbell & Malkin.

Traditional craft skills, originally developed in the second half of the 19th century, are maintained by a dedicated team of people so that today ceramic tiles can be reproduced to the standards required by the most discerning customers.

In the production of encaustic and geometric floor tiles Maw & Company continue to produce tiles utilising the hand skilled methods employed by the tile makers of the 19th century but using modern processes of control and quality measurement. In replicating wall tiles the skills of the modeller, tubeliner and majolica painter are used to recreate the detail, colours and effects found in the highly decorative wall tiles of the period.
