How do I know if a CardBus Card will work on my laptop? First, check the documentation for your computer. Most computer specifications will describe the interface type (CardBus or PC Card) for the PCMCIA slots. Next, on the computer itself you can check the interface type within Windows by accessing the Device Manager (Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager for Windows 2000; Control Panel > System > Device Manager for Windows 98/ME). Expand the PCMCIA Socket / Adapters category. If CardBus is supported, it will be listed here. If you only see references to PC Card,CardBus is not supported.
