A typically entertaining, polished piece of historical derring-do set in 1793, during the "worst excesses of the French Revolution", and starring everyone's favourite English milord, that dashing hero and master of disguise, Sir Percy Blakeney, also known as the Scarlet Pimpernel.

CONDITION:
Good used, readable, condition.
The pages are clean and tidy, with no scribbles, rips or annotations, but the covers are worn, (see photographs), and a bit damaged at the edges.

A previous owner's name has been pencilled on the first page of the prologue.

The back cover - though still intact and firmly attached to the book - has a partial split in the paper covering it, where it joins the spine.  (I am aware that this explanation is a little confused - please see the photographs.) The back cover and flyleaf also have some dark marks - I suspect it may have been used for pressing flowers.
