Own Hull FC Player of the Year Willie Manu's match worn shirt from the 2008 season. The shirt is a size Large and is made from a material called Xeneth.Willie Manu arrived at the KC at the start of 2007 from Castleford Tigers. A Tongan international, Manu broke into Rugby League with Wests Tigers in 2002, playing almost 70 games for the Sydney-based club. In 2004 he moved on to the South Sydney Rabbitohs before spending a year with St George-Illawarra in 2005. Despite interest from Canberra Raiders, Manu moved to Castleford in 2006 and played his Super League debut against Hull FC. A big, powerful, strong running back row forward, Manu has that crucial ability to split defences wide open and create opportunities for both himself and those around him. For a big man he also packs plenty of pace as he has showed many times. Manu has settled well at Hull FC and showed his commitment to the Airlie Birds last season when he signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at the KC until the end of 2010. He made 26 appearances for Hull FC in 2008, and was ever-present after returning from a broken jaw, which he received in the Round Three fixture against Wigan Warriors. His spectacular try in June’s away fixture against Bradford Bulls was a worthy contender for the club’s 2008 Try of the Year Award. |
