HUGH DE TWENEBROKES GLAZEBROOK (1855-1937, BRITISH)
A fine quality oil painting on panel by a very well listed British artist, Hugh De Twenebrokes Glazebrook, signed with initials in the lower right hand corner.
The painting has a very fine provenance with a label verso 'The Fine Art Society', New Bond Street, London, high class dealers who only speacialise in the finest artists. The label gives the title as 'Lake of Lugano' (Switzerland), also the artists name, exhibition number 35 and the date 1915.
Condition: Excellent untouched condition.

Biography: Glazebrook was born in Hampstead and is renowned for his portraits, he spent some years in Toronto, Canada before returning to the high life of London where he studied art under Sir Edward John Poynter, he travelled widely and exhibited in London and abroad. He won a medal at the Paris International Exhibition in 1900 and has many works in public collections, died 6th May 1937.
