THIS IS THE ORIGINAL SOURCE OF THIS INFORMATION If you own a tdi powered car or have a petrol car with a turbo, you may or may not have noticed your engine might have lost some of it's power, or seems to hold back, or does not seem to rev as freely as it once did, maybe it does not go up the hill in 5th as it used to, now you have to use 3/4th. or maybe your engine idles poorly, these are all signs you air mass meter or sensor unit could be faulty. If the unit is made by bosch these instructions apply, but before you spend a great deal of money replacing it, you have a very very good chance of repairing it.

I have had lots of emails regarding the suitabilty of the procedure for other makes of air mass sensor/meter if the unit is made by bosch it should work, if made by pierburg and siemens, it will not.

I cannot Guarantee the procedure will work every time, but I personally have not yet had a failure, if your unit is not cured, then you know you have done your best, and you will have to buy a new one.

Think about it, what you would rather pay £2.50, or up to  £250, its a small price to pay, and you could save yourself a lot of money.
