It is among the best sellers in persian weaving. this carpet is a perfect companion for rooms with either modern or traditional furnishing & decor.
AGE: Circa 1980s/1990s. SIZE: 2.97 x 1.55 m - 9'.9" x 5'.1". CONDITION: Very good. Full pile. The carpet has abrash. ABRASH:Change or variation in the colour of a rug due to differences in the wool or dye bath. The effect of abrash is subtle shading differences. In older or antique rugs, abrash occurs naturally. In new rugs, both machine made and handmade, Abrash is carefully created by changing the colour of the yarns to mimic a vintage look.

HERIZ
About 50 miles by road to the east of Tabriz, lies one of the most interesting, and one of the most untouched weaving areas of Persia, called Heriz.
Heriz is, however, the largest and most important of these villages, which comprise the district, and it possesses the further distinction of being, the village in which the best carpets are woven. Its claim to the leadership of the area is, therefore, substantial. The district lies west and south of the great Salavan massif. The population is exclusively Turkish. Weaving has been carried out in the Heriz area certainly since the beginning of the 19th century and possibly before that date.
The carpets from this area have geometric designs mainly with a central medallion. The carpets are well made with very good quality wool and have thick pile. The Heriz carpets are very hard wearing and durable. They were introduced to western markets during the 19th century and have been among the best sellers since then
