Heliconia Stricta “Valentine” – 1 Fresh Rhizome

For sale: Up for Sale is for one healthy (1) fresh rhizome of Heliconia Stricta “Valentine” and only will be dug out from the mother plant in the photo upon successful of bidding. As this is a mature plant division, it will be much easier to grow after planting care.

This Heliconia Stricta “Valentine” is a productive, vigorous and year round bloomer plant with a gorgeous heliconia flower. The bracts are solid bright red with a red rachis with a very thin green border. It was of a smaller size heliconia which will grow to 3 to 4 feet high depend on soil, location and planting after care. They have clumping and erect habit. It is most suitable at the partial shade and sunny position. Widely used as a cut flower for tropical flower arrangement which last for 1 week.

It's best to water everyday during dry seasons and to fertilize every month with either organic fertilizer or chemical fertilizer for healthy growth. The heliconia plant required well drained soil and please NO water logging soil as this will lead to root rot of the plant.

The rhizome will be trim to a height of 30 - 35cm long, bare-root and wrapped in coconut fibres for easy packing and shipping.

It is very important to plant the Heliconia right away in your pot or ground upon receiving.  All you have to do is to pot it in high compost medium and fertilize with organic fertilizer frequently.
