Heirloom Tomato, Russian BRAUN PFLAUME, black, 30 seeds

About shipping times. I ship on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sat. They go out in the order they are paid. I am chief cook and bottle washer as well as the sole proprietor/employee of this business. Sometimes, when it gets busy, I get a little behind. If your item is not out by Wed. it has to wait until Sat. There are only 4 hours on Sat to get things packed. I do not like to do it the night before because I'm often tired and I make more mistakes and I don't like the plants sitting in boxes any longer than they have to. So, if it doesn't go out Sat., items will be shipped on the following Monday. This may make it a week between payment and shipment. If that is troublesome to you, either arrange something with me or don't bid. It doesn't happen all the time, just over the 100 or so orders a week, possibly it happens to a couple of people. Braun pflaume. Russian variety.  Why a German name with a Russian variety? I traded seeds with a Russian woman in Germany. Her parents grew them at their dachau in Russia. I can read some German, no Russian so she put the name on the packet in German for me and that is what I have always called them. What's so special about heirloom tomatoes?  The idea that an heirloom is a  variety that has been grown by generations and passed down from person to person is really very fascinating. And they just taste better. They are naturally a little more acidic so are better for canning. I love this particular variety because makes a rich, dark sauce and it's now been found that the black tomatoes are better for you as far as being higher in anti-cancer antioxidants. The size of these tomatoes are perfect if you have a tomato processor like a Victorio strainer. No need to cut these tomatoes, just wash, remove the stem ends and drop in the processor. The seeds were harvested in July of 2009 and germination tested close to 95%.   I give 30 seeds of even very rare varieties because it irritates me to spend a lot of money on 5 seeds that rarely all germinate and occassionally, I've had seeds that didn't germinate at all. This way, you have dependable seed to grow all of them or grow a few and save the rest for the following years. Tomato seed can remain viable up to 10 years or more if stored correctly. I've had seed as old as 7 years old germinate at percentages of over 50%.  Store the seed in a dry place or in the fridge. 30 seeds.

Folks, please, please, please, if you plan on buying multiple items, please wait for my combined invoice. Ebay automatically sends individual invoices for each auction won/purchased. DON'T PAY FROM THEM IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE WINS. I get charged for each transaction from Paypal as well as I spend a lot of un-necessary time trying to sort out the overpayment of shipping charges and giving refunds. Starting now, I will refund the over payment of multiple shipping MINUS a $2.00 fee for the work of figuring it out unless the items are paid for from one combined invoice. I am a one person business and it slows down getting orders out if I have to do a lot of needless extra work and pay for paypal fees as well as giving refunds because someone payed for each separately and was charged the shipping for each item. I don't want to have to resort to not giving the refunds.

I ship worldwide for flat rate of $3.00 for unlimited quantity of seeds, but NOTE: I am not responsible for long delivery times due to customs or slow boats or if your plant inspectors confiscate or kill the seeds. It usually takes 1-2 weeks for delivery to most parts of the world with it taking closer to 3 weeks to Austrailia and New Zealand.

Germination and growing are dependent on the care the buyer gives it. I germination test the seeds myself and know they germinate. It is up to the buyer to provide the correct conditions for sprouting and growth.
