Heidi

Hear Heidi if you’ve ever longed to see the Swiss mountain slopes. This story transports the listener from the fine air and freedom of the mountaintop to the confines of Frankfurt, back to the peaks again, bounding in flowered fields with goats at your heels and sky utterly surrounding you.

We meet Heidi when she is 5, led up the mountain by her aunt who has raised the orphan but must leave now for a position in Frankfurt. In a mountain cottage overlooking the valley is Heidi’s grandfather, and there with him the girl’s sweet, free nature expands with the vista. The author’s voice is straightforward, and so is our reader’s, with the child’s wonder, devotion, and sometimes humorous good intentions. When Heidi is taken from the mountains and nearly doesn’t make it back again, the most humorous as well as most heart-wringing scenes occur. All she learns during her absence from the mountain she brings back as seeds that will grow to benefit everyone around her. (Summary by Anita)

We distribute in 2 forms, both recorded on CD-R disk media: 

MP3 disks can be played on a computer, on a DVD or CD player with MP3 facilities, or copied to a personal MP3 player.  Note that the majority of household CD and DVD players do not have MP3 facilities.  The advantage of distributing in this format is that an MP3 disk can hold approximately 10 times as much information as an audio CD so the costs are much lower.

Audio CD disks can be played on any normal CD or DVD player and no special equipment is needed.

All of our disks are distributed in DVD cases - we use a range of cases holding from 1 to 8 disks.  The cases and disks are titled and presented in a classic but functional style that can build into a low-priced but attractive library. 

We are distributing by standard letter post in ordinary envelopes.  It is unusual for DVD cases posted in this way to be damaged in the post but, if you receive a damaged case, please let us know and we will send a replacement.  If a substantial number of cases are damaged on arrival we will have to consider use of padded envelopes or boxes but this will increase costs and hence prices.
