Hedley Parsons Seascape Breakers Original Oil Painting

Description: An excellent seascape, oil on artist's canvas, signed "Hedley Parsons", and dated 1927 and framed - approx 25 X 33 inches (63.5 X 83.82cm). This is an excellent English Impressionist oil dating from the early 20th Century period. The seascape depicts a wonderful impressionist image of waves rolling towards the shoreline, the breakers with their 'white horses' casting spray on the torquise blue waters. Rocks forms flank the painting, water cascading back into the energetic sea with gulls flying in silhouette. The artis has used thick oils to create depth and texture. The work is signed and dated lower left - "Hedley Parsons", 1927.

Artist Biography: Hedley Parsons (Brit. Working 1920s - 1940s) - preffered subject coastal and seascape scenes.

Framing: Contemporary classic scroll and floral moulded Gesso work. Finish: Gilt. The oil is mounted on a stretcher.

Condition: The painting has been re-lined. The oil is in generally good condition for its age, having a little crazing to some areas and one or two minor marks, this consistent with age adding to character and authenticity. The frame has been overpainted at some period ahd has a few cracks and chips, consistent with age and this type of delicate material. The frame is large and heavy.
