I am delighted to offer for auction this well recognised and much loved childrens book Harry Potter and the Philosopher`s Stone.This is a genuine first uk edition fourth printing from 1997 making this a highly desirable collectors piece and a super investment for the future and lets face it whos got a spare £15000-£20000 for one of the 200 first prints.The book si as follows including all associated issue points.....
Bound in original pictorial cloth covers this is a near fine example of this highly collectable first edition.Do not mistake this for any of the overseas,bookclub or TS editions which were all much later this is a genuine fourth printing from 1997 shortly after the first print was released in ridiculously small numbers.The book has all the associated issue pointswhich are as follows.Mopst importantly the book has the bloomsbury logo to the base of the spine and the younger wizard to the top of the spine and rear board.There is no hogwarts motif to the half title or title page again as called for.The copyright page has text attributed to Joanne Rowling 1997 which was later changed to JK Rowling so to appeal to boys as well as girls.The all important numberline reads 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 making this a fourth print.Overall this is a near fine copy showing minimal if any signs of wear.The original dustjacket is again in lovely condition again with the bloomsbury logo and young wizard as should be.There is a small stain to the inner front else untouched and not price-clipped showing £10.99
All in all this is a very valuable first edition and would be an assett to any collection especially in such lovely condition.Good luck and please view my other items for many more firsts from various authors.
