Hans Christian Andersen - Storyteller 2 Apl 1805 - 4 Aug 1875 This is a portrait photograph of Hans Christian Andersen in a classic, pensive, pose of the times. Born in Odense, Denmark and best known for his wonderful fairy tales and short stories, HCA was also a respected novelist and poet, much influenced by Shakespeare and Ludwig Holberg. His main works are 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier', 'The Snow Queen', 'The Little Mermaid' (commemorated in the Copenhagen harbour statue), 'The Match Girl', 'The Ugly Duckling' and 'The Red Shoes' ...............amongst many others. They have been translated into more than 150 languages. Professionally mounted and framed in mahogany & gold (as shown) or silver (see other examples).
