Block printing is a very typical way of decorating fabrics in India. Block printing craftsmen use wooden blocks which are designed and carved all by hand, they are then used with dyes to create beautiful designs on fabrics The whole process is very skilful and time consuming as all is done by hand, these skills are passed down from generation to generation and it is a most beautiful natural art.

Try it out for yourself using this wooden block to create your very own work of art.

The ideas for using the blocks are endless, print a design on plain fabric and frame it, jazz up a t shirt using fabric dyes or print borders on plain table cloths, napkins etc, print your own greetings cards, even use them for temporary body tattoos using henna.
