From the Boy's Own Annual 1916, a three-and-a-bit-page article called 'Public School Missions'. It was part of a series of articles written by A B Cooper looking at 'What "Old Boys" have done and are still doing for their less fortunate brothers in poor districts' and this particular one was about two Missions – Haileybury, based in Stepney, London; and Cheltenham, based in Nunhead.
Article includes five photographic prints and one illustration featuring (i) sketch of Haileybury Mission, (ii) photo of Mr O.H. Watson (then Manager of the Haileybury Club - seen in the scan) (iii) A Group of Haileybury Club Cadets (iv) Four heads of the Cheltenham Mission – seen in the scan, (v) A Stretcher Party – Cheltenham Mission Boy Scouts on Hayes Common during a Whit-Monday outing and (vi) Cooking Practice in the Cheltenham HQ Garden, Nunhead.
Apart from some yellowing with age, the article & illustrations are in excellent condition, having been kept within the book for the last 92 years.
