A word for first time buyers...
If you visit a general music shop, the chances are that you are going to be advised by somebody who does not understand the intricacies of guitars as instruments, and will tell you that 'this one is more expensive than that one therefore it is better...' (or vice versa!). This is not necessarily true. In today's market, there are many instruments available, at all sorts of prices, but they reflect the country of origin more than the quality of the instrument. You may think that spending a little more (or even a lot more) on a more expensive instrument will get you something decent, but this is no guarantee. We are guitar specialists. We live and breathe guitars and we care very deeply about supplying a playable, worth while instrument that the beginner can thrive on.
You may also have been given the idea that an old instrument would be better than a new one because it has been 'played in'. Again, this is not necessarily true. Prices have generally decreased over the past decade but the quality is far better at nearly any given price point.
Remember: It is not HOW MUCH you spend that counts, it is WHAT you spend it on!
