MOTORSPORT EARLY WARNING 25PSI OIL PRESSURE SWITCH

1/4npt thread

SUITABLE FOR MOST FORD ENGINES

The switch is a direct replacement for most standard ford switches.

For other engine makes/threads this 25psi switch is available with 1/8npt thread(same price, state on payment) for use with fitting adaptors(see my shop items).

Most standard oil pressure warning light switches will turn the dash warning light off at around just 5psi! (this is why the warning light can be off at even cranking speed - about 200rpm). Unfortunately during use this will illuminate the warning light long after damage has been done.

With a higher setting on the switch an advanced warning can be given of drops in oil pressure of any reason:

Low oil level

Oil surge (when corning, braking or accelerating)

Pressure leak

Excessive oil temperature

Blocked filters/strainers

Etc.

Ideal protection for any serious track, high performance or motorsport engine.

 The switch can highlight the need for baffled sumps & oil coolers before damage is done.

Roughly speaking you need about 10psi of oil pressure per 1000rpm.

e.g. 7000rpm requires 70psi oil pressure

Allowing the oil pressure warning light to illuminate at a higher pressure is an economical & effective way to protect expensive engines from failure.
