7" tall clear glass bottle, narrow mouth, no label. Looks like a condiment or hot sauce bottle. No big chips or cracks or top or bottom, just little fleabites, does not compromise integrity of bottle. Still has a bit of silt in it, and some beautiful silica separation, but otherwise clean. Whole bottle has been finely buffed in sand over time and has a rainbow sheen
No label or visible identifiers other than symbols on bottom of bottle. A shape that looks like an apothocery jar, with 'R' in it, and a '7' under it.
The yellow sticker that appears on
some of the bottles is for purposes of identification, and will be
removed when the bottle is shipped to you.
If you know what type of bottle this is, I'd love to know.
Background on this bottle:
Over 70 bottles from a single dig site on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. All bottles were dug in 1995 and have been boxed up since. The dig site was a dump from an old saloon and pier, the bottles ranged from 1850's to 1960's. They were in sand and silt, some are in excellent undamaged condition, others are sand worn and chipped. All bottles are in a single piece (not broken or tops and bottoms), any damage or cracks were there when I dug them up.
The bottles are milk, soda, water, opium, medicine, condiment, salad and others. Most are American or Hawaiian, and pre-1959 (they have T.H. - Territory of Hawaii) on them. I have done my best to research them, but I am not a bottle maven, so if I say condiment and it's aftershave, please let me know. I'm interested in learning about them even though I'm selling them, they are perdy darn cool bottles and I had a lot of fun digging them.
Going to Oahu and want to dig bottles? Want to dig the same spot where I found all the bottles? It's on public property, so it's open to anyone. Check out my treasure map auction for more information.
Shipped very well padded, your choice First Class or Priority Mail. I will happily combine shipping on multiple wins and will ship internationally. Please email for shipping outside of USA.
