Chapters maps & charts include The Development of British Spas, Setting, Site, Origins, Georgian & Regency Villages, The Mid-Nineteenth Century, The Threshold of Change, The Advent of the Railway, Victorian Spa, The Changing Town Centre, Residential Expansion, Visitors, The Changing Resort, The Contemporary Spa, The Season, Shopping & Other Services, Administration & Industry, The Movement of Labour, Municipal Services & Local Government, Financial & Housing Data, Climatic Data, Bibliography.This Atlas format is very unusual for a history of a town, but very effective. If you are interested in the history of this town, I'm sure you won't be disappointed (full refund if you are!). Stiff card covered book, 52 pages plus cover, size approx 19cm x 25cm. Overall good condition, clean, contents good, corners good, stitched spine tight. Overlap edges to the cover so as expected there are minor edge creases.
