HAMILTON VINTAGE POCKET WATCH
17 JEWELS, 1905
VERY LARGE, SERIAL #440356
I am not an expert at these, but I acquired this when I had stores in Nevada casinos. Folks would come in, down on their luck, and offer me items so they could roll the bones one more time or for bus fare back to Fresno. Sometimes I liked what they had, sometimes I didn't.
This watch appears in very bad condition and it does not work.
Let me describe what I see (the pix tell a similar story).
Dial...AWFUL. Has a big chunk out of the left hand side. Other than that...the rest of the dial is not bad. (Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?)
Case...Discolored, although I don't know what the original color was, maybe silver, now it is brown. No dents, but there is an odd something on the back.
Crystal...Actually I can detect a few minor hard to see scratches, but otherwise it is pretty nice. See the last photo.
Movement...Looks nice and clean but does not run. Says, as you can see from the photos, 17 Jewels.
Hands...Unless the hour hand was made extra small, it looks like it might have been broken off. The other 2 are okay.
Size...It measures approx. 2 3/8" in width and weighs about 6 oz.
Inside the back case it says, Illinois Watch Case Co. Elgin, USA, HERCULES and the number 1235077Wittnauer, New York, Geneva, Montreal, 14 k gold, and the number 03884. And a few odd initials scratched in that I can't make out
And, that's what I see.
So, I'll tell you what, let's start the bidding at .99, and you can tell me what it is worth with your bids. Fair enough?

OUR STORY
Why do we have these watches or jewelry items? For many years we owned watch and jewelry stores in casinos in Nevada. When we sold the business and retired to Tucson, Arizona, we kept a large selection of items that we thought we would use for gifts or for ourselves in the coming years. And, of course, we always enjoyed selling on ebay, so we knew we would sell them here, too.
The items featured are exactly as described. Many items are brand new, never been worn or sold. Some were display models, new, but were used for demonstration pieces. And, then there are those watches we bought from customers who walked in and needed a few bucks, so we were always happy to oblige. These include many antique wrist and pocket watches.
Here is one of our promotional photos from a few years ago. That's me, The Watch Man in my watch coat filled with real working watches. Also, Renee, the Watch Girl, and Bucky The Watch Dog.
ALWAYS BUY WITH CONFIDENCE!

On Nov-13-09 at 22:10:14 PST, seller added the following information:IMPORTANT NOTE: ERROR IN LISTING AS FOLLOWS...
After I talk about "Inside the back case..." there is the line,
Wittnauer, New York, Geneva, Montreal, 14 k gold, and the number 03884. And a few odd initials scratched in that I can't make out
Please disregard this line...it was left over from the listing for another watch. It certainly is not 14k gold. Sorry for the error. My mistake. Thanks for your forebearance.
