A: Yes! You can purchase a "mini usb car charger" to charge your ipod/iphone as this itrip has a built in mini usb charging port.

A: Yes it is 100% comaptible. It will work with any iPod that has the standard dock connector on the bottom. Only the very first ipods do not work.
