The Grid - Electric Head (East West 9031-71456-1) 1990.
Formed in 1988 by Blackpool ex Soft Cell keyboards man Dave Ball together with sound engineer and musician Londoner Richard Norris. The first single in 1990 "Floatation" (included on this album) was a popular Balearic classic and the 1994 single "Swamp Thing" was a worldwide hit reaching No.3 in the U.K., their third album from which it was taken "Evolver" also went top twenty. Other hits included "Rollercoaster", "Texas Cowboys" and Crystal Clear". The duo never officially split up (as was the case with Soft Cell) and released a single around Christmas 2007 entitled "Put Your Hands Together" with a fifth album "Doppelganger" imminent. This is their now scarce first album released on January 1st 1990 and has some terrific tunes, songs and instrumental backing from, amongst others Zodiac Mindwarp's Cobalt Stargazer playing guitar, the backing vocals which includes Michelle Oldland are also of the top drawer. This is an original German release housed in its original picture sleeve together with its original picture liner, it does have a fine 1.5cm importation clip on the top edge top left corner.

Condition: Record: Excellent +. Very near mint. Under a very bright halogen light there are one or two very light innocuous surface paper marks. The vinyl retains a lovely sheen. Plays perfectly, I couldn't hear a blemish. Sleeve: Excellent. A bit of a scuff to the top right corner. Very slight grubbiness. Label: Excellent +. Not a mark. Liner: Excellent.
