Sovereigns contain 7.9881 grams of 91.7% gold (22 karat), so each coin has an actual gold weight (AGW) of .2354 ounces, or nearly a quarter of one ounce of pure gold. These sovereigns are from 1871 - 1900, so each coin is more than 100 years old! Queen Victoria is featured on the obverse, with St. George slaying the Dragon on the reverse.

There is no insurance available on any mailing to the UK. A safer way to send the coins would be to have the envelope Registered. I don't know if this requires a signature upon delivery in the UK, but it does in the USA. Total cost of shipping via USPS Priority Mail International Flat-Rate Envelope + Registered is $25.
