 | | - Please read this in full before making any decision on the offer being presented and please feel free to ask any questions as necessary:
- This is a one-off opportunity to invest in the future development of "Pro-Golf", one of the most intriguing, challenging and wholly interactive golf board games ever developed. There is no other golf board game like it available in the market today and it is totally "hands on". It follows the rules and strategy of golf so closely that its catchphrase, which has been endorsed by amateurs and professionals alike, is that "Its just like being there".
- The only fully functional prototype is as shown in the photos above and the purpose of this offer is to invite an entrepreneur and/or games manufacturer to bid for theWorldwide/EU/USA Licensing Agreement or a Lump-sum Buy-out agreement for "Pro-Golf" as in-house development and promotion is beyond the the inventor's means and experience.
- "Pro-Golf" is a unique game and fully protected by copyright, which has been established during a history of development that has covered some 20 years. It has been reviewed by the Golf World Magazine (pages 9-10), demonstrated to Harrods of Knightsbridge and even shown at Wentworth Golf Course over the years, but it has only been because of the advances in plastics and printing technology and the limitless possibilities afforded by computer graphics and design, that the inventor feels confident that the game can now be successfully promoted and marketed worldwide.
- The fundamental principal of "Pro-Golf", as with the real game, is simply that, the lower your handicap, the further and straighter you will "hit" the ball, the more putts you will make and the lower your score will be.
- This objective is achieved through a combination of dice, handicaps, hazards, real and virtual clubs and the use of statistical analysis to determine the outcome of shots made with each club in the golf bag. "Pro-Golf" is simplicity itself for anyone with a basic knowledge of golf and, in brief, the game comprises the following main components:
- An 18 hole golf course laid out on 4 connecting base boards and a carry case in which the boards and all the other components can be transported (pictures 1 and 2)
- 10 "real" clubs from Driver down to wedge where distance and ball location is determined by the physical placement of each club on each hole according to the handicap band involved (picture 2). There are also 3 "virtual" clubs which represent the outcomes of shots made by the Sand Iron and Putter.
- The only element of chance rests in the use of 2 dice to determine distance and direction. The rest of the game heavily involves strategy, tactics and some knowledge of the game of golf itself.
- 3 sets of Hazard Cards that determine the outcome of shots from the Rough, Bunkers and Shank shots. These are drawn during play as a result of shots played (picture 3).
- A set of 24 Handicap Cards. Each player must select 1 of these before the game starts to determine his/her handicap applicable for that round (picture 2).
- 5 Golf Bags covering the handicap ranges 0-4, 5-9, 10-14, 15-19 and 20-24. Each player must chose one of these to use in accordance with the handicap chosen at the beginning of the game (pictures 3 and 4). The Golf Bags carry all the statistical information relating to each of the "real" and virtual clubs in each of the 5 handicap bands (pictures 4 and 5). The distance and direction statistics for each club are weighted in favour of lower handicaps, exactly as in the real game.
- 2 dice (picture 6), one of which represents distance hit whilst the other represents direction i.e. Straight, with a Fade or with a Draw. A Shank result represents a duff shot and requires a Shank Card to be drawn before the next shot is played.
- 6 balls numbered 1 to 6. These are placed on the course in accordance with club selection and the outcome of the throws of the distance and direction dice. A Hazard Card must be drawn if the ball lands in one (picture 6).
- Sets of Tee Markers that can be placed anywhere on the tees to establish a tee-off position and holes, printed on clear film, that can be placed anywhere on the greens to allow for freedom of placement. These components can be placed at random so no round is ever the same (picture 6).
- Distance markers in 5 yard intervals to allow yardage measurement or to allow for accurate placement of a ball if it has to be moved manually as a result of a Hazard Card ruling (picture 6).
- A set 5 of Caddy Cards, one for each handicap range, which conveniently display hole and course data and the distances that can be hit by each of the clubs in each of the handicap bands (picture 6).
- A pad of scorecards (picture 6)
- A 30 second timer. You might be forgiven for thinking this an unnecessary extravagance, but, through playing the game at all levels, it soon became apparent that, because of the strategic and tactical elements of the game, players occasionally lapse into what the real game terms "Slow Play".
- In 2002 the inventor submitted the concept of the game to the International Technology Exchange for evaluation (picture 7) and they produced a 72 page report which concluded that "Pro-Golf" would have mass appeal to consumers of all ages who relish highly entertaining games that encourage participation and incorporate an element of chance with the opportunity to use strategy and tactics to influence play.
- They identified a potential target audience at the time of over 250 million households in the USA, Canada and the EU alone, notwithstanding the emerging economies in Central and Eastern Europe and Asia as well.
- They also produced their own professionally conceived design for the box (picture 8) and a synopsis of their full findings is available on request.
- This opportunity is open worldwide to any entrepreneur/investor with an affinity both for golf and for board games of this type and who have the ambition and resources to transform "Pro-Golf" from a unique gaming concept into a worldwide consumer product.
- Hopefully, you will note from the feedback score of this Ebay shop that that is an absolutely serious opportunity that is neither bogus nor a scam.
- The level of the bid price is to deter timewasters etc. and to demonstrate the commitment of bidders.
- Please feel free to ask any questions before making a bid and please rest assured that the bid price will be taken into account as part of the licensing/lump-sum arrangements.
- Thank you very much for your time and remember, if you love golf, it really is "just like being there".
