Description:

Geranium palmatum

"Cranesbill"

Native to Madeira and the Canary Islands this stunning, evergreen geranium has large rosettes of attractive palm-shaped glossy green leaves which are suffused with red in colder weather with pink flushed stems.  Masses of bright magenta-pink flowers with deep crimson centres are borne in abundance on tall, branched stems.

A striking architectural plant that will bring a mediterranean look to any garden or patio.

Height       1.2 metres approx

Spread      0.5 metres approx

Position     Prefers full sun or partial shade and a sheltered spot

Soil           Prefers moisture retentive, well-drained soil

Flowers     Magenta-pink flowers with a deep crimson central zone from May to August.

Foliage      Large rosettes of glossy green palm-like leaves with pink flushed stems.

Hardiness   Hardy

Uses          Gardens, borders, tubs/containers/patios
