Old Sheffield Plate Roccoco Wine Cooler Table Centre Piece 

A Superb LARGE Old Sheffield Plate Wine Cooler, table centre piece in Classic Roccoco Style.  Made circa 1800. This huge piece is in very good condition, the silver worn from the top decoration revealing the copper in a perfect way. The tops of the floweras and scroll decoration revealing a lovely deep gold copper. Shell decoration on the handles and where the handle meets the body a really superb demonstartion of rocky sea fronds, absolute masterpiece of pure Rococo decoration. The inner silver is worn but this won't be visible once there is a very large bottle of Champagne in it. Wherever you look the bottom or top rim or on the handles, the decoration is absolutely enchanting and very well done. Couple of small dinks but nothing dramatic, a little wear to the inner silver, also nothing to detract from the enjoyment of a very large, early piece of Old Sheffield plate.

The Cooler:  Very Good.  Some small dents.  The silver worn in places revealing the copper.
