Georgian Sheraton Revival Mahogany Dressing Table c1900

Description:
This is a beautiful quality late 19th to early 20th Century Georgian Revival / Sheraton Revival double bow front inlaid and satinwood cross-banded boxwood strung dressing table.  The dressing table stands on beautiful square taper legs, with brass castors to the base, with boxwood and kingwood inlays to the legs rising over which are the panelled sides flanking either side of the bow front pedestals, each with three bow front drawers inlaid with kingwood and boxwood, flanked by matched inlays.  The centre drawer has a shaped frieze below and matched inlays.  Each of the drawers has beautiful solid brass handles with circular back-plates with a beaded edge and floral designs to the centre, with a floral wreath circular handle.  Each of the drawers comes complete with its original locks, although we have no keys, but it would be relatively easy to have keys made.  The lock bears the name "MAC".  Each of the drawers has solid mahogany linings with dovetail joints.  Rising above is the double bow front top in solid mahogany, with a lovely finish.  Rising over is the vanity unit with four drawers, two on either side, with curving drawers, with matched curved tops and moulded edges, having a shaped apron to the centre with a lovely arched moulded top with an inlaid fan shaped boxwood panel.  Surmounting are the triple mirrors, each of bevelled form, set in solid mahogany frames, the outer mirrors having half arches with a full arch to the centre.  The upper section has matched handles.  The columns of the dressing table have later fitted turned finials.  A beautiful quality dressing table.

Date:
The dressing table dates circa 1900.

Condition:
The dressing table has one or two minor dings, dents and scratches in the top surface, only adding to character and authenticity.  There is a little fading to the right hand side on the vanity unit top and to the back of the right hand side mirror, again all adding to character.  A lovely quality dressing table.
