20p coin no date on EITHER SIDE these are becoming more collectable as so many are being returned to the London Mint or bought up by dealers who know that this coin will escalate in value in the future.
I guarantee that this coin has NO DATE WHATSOEVER ON EITHER SIDE unlike some of the 20p pieces which are being listed on eBay. If I am unable to sell this coin at what I consider to be a reasonable price, it is my intention to keep it for a while and sell it once all the furore has died down so if you want one get it now whilst it is cheap.
The picture is the actual coin I have for sale it is the only one I have and the one you will receive if you win this auction.
I have the official registration documents from the London Mint and the display case issued by them in which to keep this coin, these will be sent with the coin to the winning bidder.
Explanation reported 4th July 2009 in Mail Online:
"The coins were left dateless when the 20p piece was redesigned.
The Mint does not know how many undated coins were released into circulation, but estimates range between 50,000 and 200,000.
This is the first undated British coin to enter circulation in more than 300 years - the last occasion was 1672, when Charles II was on the throne.
The error has caused a great deal of excitement among coin collectors because the Royal Mint, in Llantrisant, South Wales, is normally so careful about the manufacture and release of coins into circulation".
You are welcome to contact me with any questions regarding this item and to come and inspect if you wish (ST2 area).
Please let my 100% feedback, together with the comments, of which I am very proud be my guarantee that this is the genuine article.
Correspondence which I have received from the London Mint states:
"Not all of the new design 20p pieces are error coins - in fact, very few of them are - so it is vital that the tails side is the new shield design and is NOT the old Tudor Rose and the heads side has the portrait of the Queen but there is NO date in the legend".
I hope that this will go some way to help you avoid the many scammers on eBay. Please, please read the descriptions carefully because the clue should be there for you to see.
I accept cheques (which must be cleared before despatch of the coin) or preferably cash on collection which would enable the winning bidder to inspect the coin and prevent any dispute following despatch. I don't know what else I am able to say to prove the authenticity of this item.
