Genuine Cherub Regulation School Knickers Grey

These are a pair of Grey genuine Cherub brand 60's style "Regulation" school knickers with double gusset and back panel, they come from the Will Johnson collection and are not modern copies as offered elsewhere on Ebay.

Will Johnson supplied school knickers enthusiasts with genuine school knickers in adult sizes for 2 decades via advertisements in Exchange and Mart, he purchased the remaining stock from the Cherub factory when they ceased trading, these are one of the few remaining pairs of 20" 60's style left in stock.

This style was standard wear for grammar school girls during the 60's and 70's. Originally designed to be worn both as regular underwear and games kit it increasingly began to be worn only in the later role and covered with a games skirt. This rendering the modesty double back panel an unnecessarily expensive feature and lead to flimsy knickers, often in nylon, becoming the norm.

Although similar in construction to Montfort school knickers, they are higher cut on the thigh and of slightly lighter weight cloth.

This Grey pair is in Cherub Size 22in

These have the visibly prominent flat seams

The elasticated waist is 19" un-stretched and stretches to a comfortable 32".

The ribbed elasticated leg openings are 17" un-stretched and stretch to 22".

The crotch is 8" wide and the knickers are 15½" high, they would fit a 34/36" hip, they are designed to be worn close but not tight.

Please note that the "stretched" measurements are conservative, you may get a couple of extra inches out of the leg openings and the waist may go to as much as 40" but the elastic will not like it.

The elastic is replaceable unlike on modern knickers.

They are brand new and unworn, although 20 years old.

POST & PACKING

All goods are sent discretely packed in either a jiffy bag or opaque plastic mailing bag, all packing is new.

All goods are normally sent by 1^st Class Recorded Delivery Post; expensive items may be sent by Royal Mail Next Day (before 1pm) Special Delivery at no extra cost.

Please note that if you are out the postman will leave a card, you must collect your goods from the sorting office within 7 days otherwise they will be returned to me.

Parcels do break open in the post and then the contents are usually delivered in a clear plastic bag, this is why I double pack and double address everything I send, should the parcel break open in the post (it has not yet happened to one of mine) your goods will not be exposed.
