This handy credit card sized (54mm x 85mm) tool allows you to accurately give and locate grid references.

Simply position the tool on any Ordnance Survey map or any map with a scale of 1:50 000 (2cm to 1km / 1.25 inches to 1 mile) or 1:25 000 (4cm to 1km / 2.5 inches to 1 mile) and take the reading using the handy grid. It also has a ruler along one side and a reminder of how to take a reading printed on it.

You may think that you can do it accurately by eye, but trust me, you will always be out! The contours etc. on the map will lead your eye astray. Stick one in your pocket, wallet or map holder and it will always be to hand.

It is ideal for GPS users or anyone who enjoys orienteering. I use mine at home when plotting routes and when out walking to accurately locate my position on the map in conjunction with a GPS.
