A fantastic buy for any cake decorating enthusiast . . . a 17g pot of Rainbow Dust edible glitter, made especially for cake decorating. GUNMETAL (Jewel range) Very bright sparkles! Jewel Colours are a range of vibrant colours which sparkle with the same colour throughout so, for example, a blue dust would sparkle with blue highlights. Great for detail on colour themed cakes. IMPORTANT . . . you may be buying this item for use on a child's cake and may have completely understandable concerns about the product and its safety. We're parents ourselves and agree that you're always best to check, so are happy to try and explain the confusing situation surrounding EU classifications to the best of our ability . . . Under European Union Food Regulations, there are only 3 classifications for edible items: "edible", "non toxic" and "toxic". Forget "toxic" - we're not out to poison anyone! "Edible" refers to something which is a recognised foodstuff in its own right. eg the sugar based paste colourings we sell are "edible", whereas starch-based or iron-oxide colourings are "non-toxic" because they are not a recognised foodstuff in their own right. The other way to identify them is that "edible" items are absorbed by the body and "non toxic" items are not absorbed by the body. All ingredients and colours used in Rainbow Dusts are EU approved for use on food. We often use the term "edible" in item titles etc to differentiate the product from, say, the type of glitter a card maker would be searching for on eBay. We are applying common sense use of the word "edible" even where this differs from strict EU classification. We're honest eBayers - please try to see this. Rainbow Dusts are made in the UK by a specialist icing colouring company . . . they would simply not be allowed to trade if they were doing anything wrong, so please note that "non toxic" items are officially for decorative use only but are 100% safe to use and eat. This situation affects a lot of icing colourings but they're all obviously still 100% safe to use, without exception.

There's no real way of showing the exact shade of this colouring on eBay because colours in photo may look totally different on someone else's PC monitor. The best I can do is show you the pot, knowing that most buyers will already be familiar with these excellent glitters. BEST BEFORE DATE: as new stocks arrive every week the Best Before dates get longer and longer so please be assured the Best Before date won't normally be any sooner than end of 2012. Some ranges are exempt from BBE dates as the EU classification changed from "edible" to the next class down, which unfortunately is called "non toxic". 100% safe and approved for use on edible items. INGREDIENTS: Rainbow Dusts© have no flavouring. They are normally iron oxide based (EU approved), with colouring derived from vegetable pigment. Nut free, GMC free. SHADE / COLOUR: there's no real way of showing true shade of this colouring on eBay because of my photography and because the colours in the photo may look totally different on someone else's PC monitor. The best I can do is refer you to the name of the colour, knowing that most buyers will already be familiar with these excellent colours. Shades and consistency can vary by tiny, tiny amounts due to manufacturing tolerances, temperature and storage. These variations are tiny and are rarely ever noticed. FOOD SAFETY: eBay discourage the sale of "food" for obvious reasons. We are selling this product as a "cake decorating ingredient" to ensure we stay within eBay guidelines but please note we are a specialist sugarcraft shop.... we guarantee these are brand new, sealed in original packaging with safety lids and that everything is stored and handled in professional, hygienic conditions at all times. Never buy edible products from private eBay sellers - you have no idea how they have been stored (think smoking, dogs, kids etc). COMBINED POSTAGE / SHIPPING: because of Royal Mail's new size/weight guidelines, the P&P is fairly high if you're buying just 1 pot. We would never re-sell an item returned by a customer for all sorts of food safety and hygiene reasons, therefore we cannot accept returns unless the product is faulty. NON-UK CUSTOMERS: we are happy to ship parcels up to 2kg by Air Mail but on the express condition that the customer is responsible for safe entry of the item into their own country.
