THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST IVORY CALL EXCHANGE MODELS I HAVE COME ACROSS AND CERTAINLY IS A VERY ELEGANT TELEPHONE FROM AN AGE WHERE DIALLING A NUMBER WOULD HAVE BEEN A CHORE. I HAVE PROFESSIONALLY CONVERTED THE TELEPHONE WITH A BRAND NEW BT PLUG/CABLE SO IT CAN WORK IN ALL TELEPHONE SOCKETS. THE CONDITION OF THE BAKELITE IS FANTASTIC WITH A DEEP IVORY LUSTRE ALL THE PARTS MATCH COLOURWISE AND DATEWISE WITH NO CHIPS OR CRACKS, WITH ONLY THE TINIEST PINPRICK FLEABITES UNDERNEATH THAT WERE PROBABLY THERE FROM NEW. THE TELEPHONE HAS THE OLD FASHIONED TWIN BELL RING THAT CAN BE HEARD ON CLASSIC PROGRAMMES SUCH AS DADS ARMY OR MISS MARPLE. REST ASSURED THE TELEPHONE IN THE PICTURES IS THE ONE FOR SALE. THE HANDSET HAS THE NUMBERS 164-56 IN A RECESSED OVAL AND THE BASE HAS THE MARKINGS 312F H56/3A. THE HANDSET CORD IS GENUINE AND IS REMARKABLE THAT THE COLOURING IS SO FRESH BUT DOES HAVE A FEW OF THE TINIEST FRAYS, ALL STABLE AND MENTIONED FOR ACCURACY. THE CALL EXCHANGE BUTTON WAS USED WHEN PEOPLE SHARED A TELEPHONE LINE BUT IS NO LONGER USED ON THE MODERN TELEPHONE SYSTEM. THE SPEECH IS CLEAR AND THE ORIGINAL 1950'S MICROPHONE HAS BEEN RETAINED FOR AUTHENTICITY AND THE UNIQUE SOUND QUALITY. IT HAS BEEN TESTED THOROUGHLY ON BOTH LANDLINES AND MOBILE NETWORKS, AND HAS BEEN FITTED WITH A BT PLUG AND IS READY TO BE PLUGGED IN AND USED AS SOON AS YOU RECIEVE IT.
