''GOOD-BYE MY LADS'' ORIGINAL CHROMO LITHOGRAPH - BY FRED ROE.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase an undamaged chromolithographic print in its orriginal victorian frame, see reverse which has been backed up with old enlarged photographic prints.
Fred Roe exhibited Royal Academy 1877, 'GOOD-BYE MY LADS' depicts Admiral Nelson leaving Portsmouth for Trafalger, although Nelsons flag ship was 'VICTORY' one of his favorite ships 'AGAMEMNON' seems to take center stage, not being an historian maybe I have it wrong and someone will put me right.
This is as far as I can tell a rare, and very highly saught after CHROMOLITHOGRAPHIC copy, the exacting art of colour printing. Today chromolithographs (large ones) have become very scarce, most have just rotted away.
SIZE approx 22" x 32" printed upon thick wove paper, containing slight creasing, as usual, minute pin head repair, almost invisible, without significent discolouration or staining is most rare, ''GOOD-BYE MY LADS'' is one of the greatest original chromolithographs one will find.
PLEASE NOTE THAT POSTAGE MAY VARY, SUBJECT TO FINAL PACKING WEIGHT,DELIVERY AND INSURANCE COSTS, i AM WILLING TO SEND OVERSEAS.
