This crucifix came out of a large collection where the original owner died over 30 years ago so there is no way of identifying the age of this crufix. When the collection came into my hands, this crucifix was valued at over $5,000 six years ago. Spun gold or gold wire was used to construct this crucifix. Very intricately, delicately wound, woven, the design of this crucifix is visually and actually, complicated. Accent points are the 3 shapes covered with seed pearls on each tip of the crucifix. This collection of crucifixes contains some amazing pieces of gold and silver wire design. Very complex and delicate! An equally delicate and complicated chain, obviously made for this particular crucifix, accompanies this item. The chain measures 13 1/2" while the crucifix itselfmeasures approximately 2" width X 2" length without dangle, 3" with dangle X 7/16" thick. This is a crucifix guaranteed to be noticed when worn. Approximately 1" wide X 2 3/8" long X 1/8" thick and weighs 1.5 oz. A gift for all times or an excellent collection addition especially with the price of gold rising. CR 10
