This is an early edition of one of Ward Lock and Co's famous Shilling Pictorial Guides and covers Galsgow and the Clyde. There are numerous illustrations, two fold-out maps, and many wonderful advetisements from the period.

Published by Ward Lock, there is no date but the advertisements at the end of the book are from the 1897 series. In red thin card boards with black titling the book measures approx. 6 1/2" x 4 1/2".

The book is in very good condition for this type of publication with some rubbing to the spine ends and corners and edges of the boards. There is also some shelf wear and the spine is slightly faded.

Internally the book is tight and clean with no inscription but the map facing the title page has a tear of about 1/2" where it joins the spine.
