This is a single copy of the Girl's Own Paper for October 1933.  Published by The Girl's Own paper.  A scarce pre-war issue which are larger in format than the wartime issues, with gorgeous covers and quality paper.  Many were sent for salvage and pulping during WWII, and individiual issues are now hard to find.  This issue has a lovely colour cover of a girl playing Lacrosse.  Contents of this issue include:

"The Schoolgirl Explorer" - complete story by Patrick de Cardeau set in Africa.

"That Orfull Girl" - series of short stories by Sybil Haddock about a girl called Nancy Orfull.

"Jennifer West - Antique Dealer - First of a series of short stories about a girl Antique Dealer by Mairi O'Nair

"Two Girls in India" - the first of a series of short stories about two girls on a long holiday in India by Deborah Tyndall.

"The Odd House of Grangecourt" - continuation of a schoolgirl story by Dorothy Dennison.

"Lacrosse" - by C. Falcon.  Advice on playing the game well.

"Decorative Stencilling" - by Marjorie Bywater.

"Telegrams" - complete story by Jane G. Stewart.

Also lots of pages dedicated to correspondence and the "Girl's Own" club with competitions and adverts.  Rear cover is an advert for Clark's Anchor Thread.

The magazine is in a very good condition.  Light general edge rubs, small light creases at corners, a little very light browning at front edge of front cover, some brown marks close to spine on front cover where staples are, slight discolouration along bottom front edge, some creasing to paper spine covering - which is complete and undamaged, pencil name at bottom edge of rear cover, some small brown marks on rear cover close to spine where staples are, light crease at front edge of rear cover, a little light grubbiness and light brown speckling to page edges, the odd light bend at corners of pages, internally very clean and crisp and solid - exceptionally nice.  I will be offering many more pre-war single issues for sale in the coming days.

Please note on multiple purchases of these magazines, each issue after the first, will attract a 75p discount.

I try to be accurate with my descriptions but if you have any questions, please contact me.  Take a look at my other auctions and ebay shop items for more collectable titles.

Postage always combined on multiple purchases. I can accept overseas personal cheques in Euros or local currency but prefer paypal. I can also accept international money orders, but please no postal orders from overseas as they cannot be cashed in the UK. All parcels are packaged carefully to withstand a journey - I always use brand new padded envelopes and additional protection for all my items. See my feedback for quality of packaging.
