GERBAULT: 1918 Vie Parisienne Print
A rare ORIGINAL print from the famous French magazine La Vie Parisienne.
On quality, satin-finish paper with white border and date on the reverse.
It is NOT framed - the 'mount / frame' shown above is for display only
It's an amusing WW1 satirical illustration called (translated) Lutetia to Bertha
(Lutetia was the pre-Roman name for Paris and Bertha refers to the huge German gun)
It shows a girl dressed as a patriotic French cockerill who's cocking-a-snook at the barrel of a Big Bertha and saying 'Shut your mouth, baby!'
The page size is 10.5" x 13.5".
It is in excellent condition.
The image is sharper and brighter, with warmer colouring than photo shows.
It will be shipped flat between new, quality custom-cut boards and weather protected.
'La Vie Parisienne' began at the end of the 19th century as a social and artistic guide for glamorous Parisiennes, and quickly became a high class, slightly risqué magazine combining satire, humour and lots of scantily clad young ladies, with the work of many acclaimed artists of the day appearing on its pages.
