The table is the drop leaf type and the leaves are supported when the gate leg is pulled out from beneath the folding leaf, this slides easily on a polished or carpeted floor this forms a sturdy support for the leaf.

The table has a solid oak top with beautiful crisply bobbin turned legs and etched cross members it dates from around 1780 to 1800.This one has the rare extra of a small end drawer with a turned oak knob and the leaf joint is fine and it has the original iron hinges

A beautiful piece of Georgian oak is a delight to look at and any one who loves this type of wood will find this one no exception.

This is an extremely attractive piece so if you have a room in the Georgian style you would find this one would give good service as a small dining or tea table and it has the added advantage of folding away while still looking very attractive.

The table is in good condition for its age you can even see the wooden pegs in the top where it has been attached to the base there have been no repairs or alterations carried out to it, it does not have any sign of woodworm or other problems, there is a very small shrinkage crack near the bottom of one leg and very minor surface scratching to the top.

The table stands 29” high, 35’’ long and 17’’ wide when closed and 35’’ long by 40’’ when fully extended.
